Questions
- Does it work without internet?
- Yes. Sales are recorded on the till and sync when the connection returns. Receipts print with their real invoice number at the time of sale, because each till reserves a block of numbers in advance.
- What happens if stock goes negative after an offline sale?
- The sale is accepted and flagged for you to check. The goods have already left the shop, so refusing the sale afterwards would not put them back — instead you get a discrepancy to reconcile with a physical count.
- Can my staff see what things cost me?
- No. Cost prices, margins and profit are visible to admins only, and that is enforced on the server — the figures are never sent to a sales account in the first place.
- How is profit calculated?
- Revenue minus the cost of the goods sold, minus expenses you record such as rent and salaries. Item cost uses a weighted average that updates each time you restock, and the cost is frozen onto each sale so changing a price later never rewrites past profit.
- Can I run more than one shop?
- Each shop is separate, with its own stock, staff and books. One person can hold an account at more than one shop.
- Does it work with a barcode scanner?
- Any USB scanner that types like a keyboard works with no setup. You can also type an item code by hand if a label is damaged.
- What about my existing data?
- You start fresh. Adding items as you restock is usually quicker than importing a list that has drifted from what is on the shelves.
